Battlefield 1943 is probably my most favorite Arcade game on Xbox live, so much so I spent the dough and purchased it on the same day it came out. Call me bias, but this game will be the cheapest FPS you can get that will become so addicting once you start playing it.

I have always been a fan of the Battlefield series ever since the PC days. I love their conquest mode (Capture and hold specific points/bases on the map) and 1943 doesn't steer away from that. The conquest in 1943 gives you a since of accomplishment instead of just running and gunning like other FPS. On top of that, they offer a superb awards system that keeps track of certain kills, kill streaks, vehicle kill steaks etc.

My favorite aspect of the game is being able to fly the Airplane, such as the Corsair (U.S) and the Zero (Japan). Once you get use to the controls you can sway the battle with relevant ease, to your team’s advantage. Another nice thing I love about the game is you can't team kill, which tends to happen a lot in games where you only have one spawn point for flying vehicles, just check out Bad Company 2, which should have incorporated Non TK measures into the game.

The game is based on squad play, but your squad is only as strong as the people talking on the mic. This is one downside to the game, but can be easy remedied by forming your own squad with your own friends.

Another aspect that some people might not like is that there are only 3 maps in conquest mode and 1 for Air Superiority (Both teams have several carriers for launching planes and it’s an all out Arial battle). Again I like this game so much I never got burnt out on the maps. I think the game play just keeps it fresh.

I have been gaming for over 20+ years and this is my review. I hope this review is helpful. I would recommend this game to anyone who likes the FPS genre.
